Sonos has its first event for 2021 set to take place on 9 March and we believe that it’s for a new portable speaker called the Sonos Roam. Here’s how to tune into the live stream to find out first.
The US-based audio company has promised to launch at least two new products this year and the first is about to arrive. Importantly, it looks like it will signal Sonos’ move away from multi-room with a truly portable Bluetooth speaker.
How to watch Sonos Roam launch live
It’s going to be fairly easy to watch the Sonos Roam event live. You simply need to head to Sonos.press at 9pm GMT on 9 March.
While this is the press site and shows two dates, the firm has put this link out publicly and the dates refer to both briefings and the actual launch. If we can embed the video here, we will do so at the top to make it easier for you to watch.
What will Sonos launch?
We’re 99% sure that Sonos is going to launch the Roam speaker as it was extensively leaked just a few days ago. Find out all the Sonos Roam rumours.
It will be a smaller, cheaper and more portable version of the Sonos Move and better rivals devices from the likes of Sony, Bose, UE and Marshall. While it will work as a normal multi-room speaker around the home, it has Bluetooth connectivity so you can use it when Wi-Fi isn’t available.
This is like the Move, but that speaker is bigger than the Sonos One and weighs a whopping 3kg making it only really suitable for the garden.
This truly portable design is the firm’s first proper venture outside of multi-room speakers and the other Sonos products rumoured for a 2021 release is a pair of Sonos Headphones.
Those, it seems, will arrive later in the year.
